Mbappe: ‘Every kid dreams of playing a France-Brazil match’

France forward Kylian Mbappe reflected on the match, “For us, it was not a friendly. Playing Brazil is a great opportunity to see where we stand tactically and technically. It’s great to play matches like this.

I said before the game we should not draw conclusions from it, so I’m not going to be hypocritical and treat it like a World Cup final,” said Mbappe.

“We showed creativity and remained solid. We’re moving forward.

“All I want is to be on the pitch and play. Every kid dreams of playing a France-Brazil match. I know it’s a privilege.”

France outlasts Brazil despite late pressure

Mbappe put Les Bleus in control after his neat 32nd-minute chip over Ederson.

But Upamecano’s ill-advised denial of a goal-scoring opportunity for Wesley added some much needed intrigue, as he was sent off still 35 minutes remaining.

Etikite’s goal in the 65th minute looked to have dusted the match, before Bremer’s goal in the 78th minute burst the match wide open.

Brazil continued to pressurise the French defence, but they were able to hold to secure a narrow 2-1 victory.

After securing a free kick on the left side, Bremer is able to knock the ball into goal inside a congested goal area.

The ball is initially targeted towards the far post, with Casemiro able to keep it in with a well-timed chip back across the face of goal.

The ball ends up bobbling in and around the goal area, before Bremer is able to drive it into an open goal amid all the frenzy.
